The Caribbean will soon have the first indigenous private foundation dedicated to early childhood development. It will evolve from the highly successful, eight-year-old Caribbean Child Support Initiative (CCSI).
The CCSI will soon transition to the status of a foundation with sustained regional support funding. This indigenous, large-scale, not-for-profit entity will provide a much-needed regional early childhood development mechanism. It will have no political, governmental or denominational affiliations, and will support the development of all disadvantaged young children in the region.
In this regard and in keeping with CCSI’s focus and building on its accomplishments, the FDDC’s Vision is for Caribbean young children from all social and economic backgrounds to have equal opportunities to reach their maximum potential.
Furthermore, the FDCC’s Mission is to have well-adjusted children ready for primary school by facilitating cognitive, social and emotional stimulation of children 0-5 years in disadvantaged circumstances, supporting knowledge and capacity building to parents and other caregivers, and through advocacy to decision-makers and other stakeholder.

Roving Caregivers Programme
Collecting data on childrearing and parentingEarly stimulation for children and parenting education for parents form the core of the programme. RCP addresses the developmental needs of the very young in disadvantaged conditions where children benefit from: quality care and attention, development of basic skills, better health and nutrition, and at the next level, better performance in pre-school and future education.
Caribbean Internship Programme
Goal, Objectives, How it works, Selection & PlacementThe CIP provides a unique opportunity for students and graduates of tertiary institutions in the Caribbean to explore their talents and capacities in order to grow in terms of self- esteem and professionalism and ultimately realize their potential.
The Family Learning Programme
